Client Testimonials

  • I have been doing Crossfit for about 6 years and I came to Dr. Angela (re.PHYSIO) with severe knee pain that was significantly impacting my daily life. Before seeking professional help, I had tried resting my knee, hoping the pain would subside on its own. Unfortunately, this approach didn't yield the results I was hoping for, and I found myself experiencing constant pain and stiffness that limited my mobility and overall quality of life after a squat day or a hike, etc.

I was lucky that Dr. Angela was right there at our gym in Oakland. From the very first session, I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Angela conducted a thorough evaluation that helped identify the root cause of my knee issues. This comprehensive approach set the foundation for an effective treatment plan tailored to my specific needs and near term and long term goals.

The exercises and stretches recommended by Dr. Angela worked wonders for my recovery. With just four sessions and consistent adherence to the prescribed exercises for 6-7 weeks, I've experienced a night and day difference. I don't experience the constant pain and stiffness anymore, allowing me to return to activities I had been struggling with.

Now, I'm thrilled to say that I can hike, run, and even perform high-impact exercises like squats and box jump overs. The progress I've made is nothing short of amazing, and it's all thanks to Dr. Angela's expertise and guidance. It has been a game changer!

What truly sets Dr. Angela apart is her commitment to not just treating symptoms, but addressing the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. I think her approach has also empowered me with the knowledge and tools to take control of my recovery and maintain my improved condition long term.

I highly recommend Dr. Angela to anyone struggling with pain or mobility issues.

  • I had a back injury a year and a half ago. I thought it would resolve with time and I tried doing Kaiser PT. It was horrible, they were no help. I tried working on mobility on my own and it was slow and painful. I started working out with a private trainer and I got out of pain but my mobility was still very limited. I finally decided to go with a private PT. That’s when I found Dr. Angela, she is amazing! When I started with Dr. Angela I couldn’t really even bend forward below my knees. She listened to my concerns and spent the time to thoroughly evaluate my initial range of motion and we set goals for what I wanted to achieve. She developed a game plan and 6 weeks later I can touch my toes! I now feel confident in bending forward and lifting heavier items. I highly recommend Dr. Angela. I now experience freedom of movement! If you are even remotely considering PT please save yourself a lot of time and go see Dr. Angela.

  • Before Dr. Angela, I had been living with chronic shoulder pain for about a year and a half. I had tried every tip and trick, gone to physical therapy, and was at a point in my life where I was desperate to get better. Finally I joined Dr. Angela’s practice and I am extremely grateful for the progress that we made together. Not only am I officially pain free, but I’m finally starting to do the exercises I haven’t been able to do since my injury. With her continued guidance I hope to get to a point where I can lift heavy again. For athlete’s trying to get back into their sport- Dr. Angela is it!!!

  • I have been working with Angela as my PT for over 1.5 years. I been dealing with a bulging disc for the better part of my life which left me crippled at one point. Through her program she has got me mostly pain free in my everyday life and is even trying to get me back to basketball shape. Can't recommend her enough!

  • I've been working with Dr. Angela to rehab a persistent case of runner's knee, and I can't express how grateful I am for her expertise. I was once at a point where I couldn't run at all due to the knee pain, but I'm finally back to running and progressively moving closer towards achieving my fitness goals. Dr. Angela meticulously analyzed not only my running form, but the different movement patterns that caused the discomfort, identified the root cause, clearly explained it to me, and prescribed mobility and strengthening exercises to fix it. Along the way I also returned to weight lifting, and she helped improve my squat and deadlift techniques as well. Dr. Angela takes the time to understand your specific goals, easily explains why you may be having certain issues, and creates an optimal training plan to help you recover quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Angela!

  • Top notch PT. I had nine sessions with Angela over the course of 2+ months for intense sciatica associated with lower back pain. Angela is knowledgeable, skilled at explaining things, and very realistic and accurate in describing the course of treatment and possible outcomes. There was absolutely no hype, no overselling the number of sessions or length of treatment needed. She also paid very close attention to my progress and made appropriate adjustments to ensure that she was giving me tools to push myself without going too far to quickly. Highest recommendation.

  • Dr Angela is great.

Before coming to PT, I was dealing with a recurring ankle injury that made it difficult to run and perform any physical activity that required balance or ankle strength.

re.PHYSIO was much more focused and structured compared to other PT experiences I’ve had. They took the time to assess my injury comprehensively and developed a plan that targeted both the pain and long-term stability.
The ankle injury significantly affected my mobility. I had to avoid certain sports. It was frustrating not being able to stay active.

Since starting my plan of care with re.PHYSIO, I’ve noticed a major improvement in both strength and stability in my ankle. The pain has diminished, and I feel more confident in using my ankle for various activities.

I’m now able to participate in sports again. It took about 5-6 sessions to really notice a significant improvement and regain full functionality in my ankle.

The gym space at re.PHYSIO is excellent—clean, spacious, and equipped with everything needed for a comprehensive rehab plan. The treatment experience was top-notch. Angela was always attentive and supportive throughout my recovery.

  • Before going to re.PHYSIO, I had been struggling for weeks with an adductor strain that just wasn’t getting better. As an athlete, being sidelined was tough, especially with a big competition on the horizon. I was feeling incredibly stressed about healing and returning to play and the crunched timeline. I had received a lot of conflicting advice from other PTs and trainers, which left me confused and unsure of how to move forward. That’s when I decided to reach out to Dr. Angela and re.PHYSIO after hearing great things from a teammate.

On our initial intake call, I was immediately put at ease by Dr. Angela's matter-of-fact and diligent approach to helping me. At our first appointment, Dr. Angela took the time to thoroughly assess my injury and symptoms to create a tailored plan that focused not just on recovery, but on getting me back to peak performance. Being an athlete herself, it made it easy to communicate about what I expect from my body and the level I was trying to get back to. Over the course of a few weeks, I made huge strides in my recovery through a clearly outlined plan and offline support from re-PHYSIO. I’m now heading into my upcoming competitions feeling stronger, more prepared, and much more confident.

I highly recommend re.PHYSIO to any athlete dealing with injury or looking to maintain their health. It’s rare to find a PT who truly understands the demands of intense sports and competition and trains you with that in mind. Thanks to Dr. Angela and re.PHYSIO, I’m back on track and ready to compete at my best!

  • I came to Dr. Angela after being diagnosed with a meniscus tear and bruising (9 months post injury). I was having constant flare ups, irritation, and had to stop all my previous passions (dancing, hiking, lifting weights). I couldn't even go for a simple walk or carry groceries without some pain and swelling. I felt a sense of hopelessness for my future as the other knee also began having pain as a result of overcompensating for my injury. Dr. Angela was extremely thorough in gathering information around my injury, past injuries/overall health challenges, and listened to my goals for recovery. She demonstrated a high level of knowledge and education throughout treatment to help me understand my injury and why certain treatments were proscribed. In addition to the personalized treatment, she helped remind me of the psychological factors that can also sometimes impede progress. After 2 months of consistent exercises, I am now able to add weights to my workouts, have a stronger mind muscle connection, and completed a steep hike with no flare ups or issues! Dr. Angela excels in her work and provides a solid, warm alliance with clients that is very encouraging. If you are in need of effective and personalized treatment, this is it!

  • Dr. Angela is the most thorough and effective PT I’ve ever had. I’ve had chronic achilles pain since tearing it in 2016, and each year, have gone to a different PT with similar results that really seem to just treat symptoms. Dr. Angela finds the root cause of the symptoms and treats both cause and symptoms. She’s incredibly detail oriented and has identified seemingly small ways my feet and/or body move, and has given me specific queues to make these small adjustments that have felt like its made a huge difference. Usually by this time of the [ultimate frisbee] season, my achilles pain is starting to peak, but I would confidently say my achilles are feeling the strongest and best they’ve felt.

I really appreciate how Dr. Angela designs programs — she asks and understands whatever goals (short/med/long term) I have, and is also able to make adjustments when needed. She is very mindful that PT can be boring and doesn’t over prescribe exercises — she focuses on what’s important and prescribes exercises that consider time to complete, home equipment, your schedule, and whether you’re traveling or not! I’ve also learned so much from my sessions with Dr. Angela — I love being able to ask why we’re doing something and she’s always able to give a really thorough and clear answer.

I highly recommend re.PHYSIO to anyone that is serious about fixing the root causes causing them issues (not just treating symptoms), looking to feel better, and improve performance.

  • I came to re.PHYSIO to deal with plantar fasciitis that I had been interfering with my ability to run and play my sport, ultimate frisbee. The pain really hindered my ability to train and to play at the level that I want. During the season, when I had to play, I would always regret the next day; really painful to walk. I had tried various treatments and exercises for some time with mixed results so I wanted to try something different.

Working with Dr. Angela has been great and has really helped me in getting back to 100%. I can play my sport without pain and am able to increase intensity of my training sustainably.

In addition to helping me recover from plantar fasciitis, she has also helped me work on several other less painful issues that have been bothering me for years. I plan to continue periodically working with her to identify areas that need work to prevent injuries.

On top of that, Dr. Angela is very personable. Communication is really easy. She listens and explains issues well and answers any questions about the prescribed exercises and treatments.

    Would highly recommend.

  • I came to Angela after two years of calf and ankle issues. I had seen two other PTs for the same issue but none were quite sure of the source of my calf pain and ankle stability issues. Within 5 minutes, Angela diagnosed the problem and after 6 sessions, I'm feeling better than I have in years. I can sprint without pain but also move through my day feeling more stable and coordinated in my body. Getting a full hour of her attention, problem solving, manual therapy, and general planning for how to reach your goals has been worth every penny!

  • Angela is a phenomenal PT. She has been helping me for over a year and a half with exercises to help with EDS, a connective tissue disorder that makes you hypermobile and prone to frequent dislocations. She has been extremely knowledgable and devotes a ton of time into tailoring a program to my condition.

When I started seeing Angela, I was in a state of rapidly deteriorating health. Her PT sessions was one of the biggest factors in helping me go from couch bound to lifting weights at the gym and doing cardio again. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

  • Dr. Aie has been an absolute godsend in my recovery journey! Every time I’ve mentioned that something hurts, she has always prescribed a training plan that works to both decrease the pain in the short-term and prepare me for returning to playing sports in the long-term. She also plays Ultimate Frisbee like I do, and her ability to connect sport-specific movements with various exercises has been an amazing bonus on top of her PT knowledge. She is also infinitely patient and warm in all of our sessions, and even though I’m there because something is hurting, I always find myself having a pleasant time with her fixing me up.
All in all: 11/10, would definitely recommend!!

  • Strongly recommend re.PHYSIO! I've been going to Dr. Angela for a few years now and she always helps get me back to the activities I was doing before injuries. This place is my go-to for physical therapy.

I had hurt my lower back dead lifting in January 2024 that prevented me from strength training. Within a few months after starting physical therapy with Dr. Angela Aie, I built my way back to dead lifting and gained a ton of knowledge along the way.

Dr. Angela went above and beyond to help me understand what the underlying issue was and what the plan was to correct it. Dr. Angela also provided homework and exercises in between sessions.

Dr. Angela is attentive and very knowledgeable, it was great to have her as a resource as I navigated the ups and downs of recovery. I've incorporated the exercises she has recommended into daily mobility routines.

I love how re.PHYSIO structures the hour long appointments to be fully with the physical therapist. There's education, mobility testing, sometimes soft tissue mobilization, and then a run through of prescribed exercises.

I had tried chiropractic in the past, but I find re.PHYSIO much more helpful and effective.

re.PHYSIO is also in a top notch gym with a ton of helpful equipment. Scheduling is also very easy with the app! re.PHYSIO is in my speed dial and should be in yours too.

  • Having had 4 sports-related knee surgeries and multiple ligament tears, I am no stranger to PT. In my countless experiences, Angela stands out as the top PT I have ever seen. The difference is stark - Angela really takes the time to understand your personal goals and makes the PT work with your schedule, your abilities, and your timeline. She doesn't just list exercises and send you on your way - in your sessions with her, she will work with you to find the exercises that will be most effective for you and help you understand the key points for each one. Many are sport-specific or movement specific, so that you aren't just on some generic post-injury or post-surgery rehab program. She uses really great tools so you have a summary and videos of exercises for later reference, as well as videos of sessions so you can look at your own form. She is also very responsive, and when you work with her, the sessions are always one on one and focused on you.

When I started seeing her, I had a goal of getting back to high level play in about 8-10 weeks. Angela helped pinpoint the specifics of my goal, taking the time to let me know what to expect, how to measure progress, and what the focus would be throughout. This was helpful to keep me motivated - always difficult when PT can feel boring and hard and you just want to get back on the field! With her guidance, I was able to return to play in the time frame I wanted, and many of the things we worked on continue to be relevant and helpful. If you need help recovering from an injury or surgery, I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Angela!

  • I am overjoyed to have connected with Dr. Angela! Within a matter of weeks I have already experienced a significant decrease in the chronic pain I’ve been living with for 4+ years now. Thanks to her outstanding guidance, I am beginning to trust my own capacity for healing again (for the first time in a long time!) I have already been able to begin engaging in many physical activities that I love so much and have been missing dearly. I no longer feel so reliant upon others for assistance. She is extraordinarily knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything in great detail to me. She checks in consistently to ensure that I understand the benefits of each exercise we are doing and that I am able to physically integrate it into my body in a safe way. Having all of this information shared with me in such an intentional way helps me to feel like I have agency in my own healing process. I can’t recommend her enough! Thanks Dr. Angela!
